The Simmons–Smith reaction of zinc carbenoids with alkenes is a powerful method to access cyclopropanes containing various substitution patterns. This work exploits the high reactivity of aryldiazomethanes toward zinc halides to generate aryl-substituted carbenoids catalytically.
