Herbicidal compositions containing such 3-substituted pyridine compounds and derivatives thereof and methods of controlling undesirable vegetation employing these compounds and derivatives are also disclosed. The compounds in which XR is hydroxyl are also useful as intermediates for producing the disclosed 3-substituted pyridine derivatives.(FR) On décrit des herbicides à base de composés de pyridine 3-substitués, et leurs dérivés, de formule (I) où Ar représente un groupe hétéroaryle à 5 ou 6 membres, substitué ou non, qui présente 1, 2 ou 3 atomes d'azote d'un cycle, le reste des atomes de ce cycle étant du carbone; un groupe hétéroaryle à 5 membres, substitué ou non, doté d'un hétéroatome d'oxygène ou de soufre d'un cycle, le reste des atomes de ce cycle étant du carbone; ou bien un groupe hétéroaryle à 5 membres, substitué ou non, doté d'un atome d'hydrogène d'un cycle et d'un hétéroatome d'oxygène ou de soufre d'un cycle, le reste des atomes de ce cycle étant un carbone.
