    The processability of an uncured soft elastomer is improved by blending the elastomer under shear conditions with a terpolymer of ethylene with carbon monoxide and with a copolymerizable ethylenically unsaturated monomer in the presence of a crosslinking agent for polymer (T) which does not substantially cure elastomer (E). Gel resulting from crosslinking polymer (T) improves the properties of the blend as compared with the soft elastomer alone. When elastomer (E) and the crosslinking agent for polymer (T) risk undergoing a reaction which would result in substantially crosslinking elastomer (E), one may substitute another soft elastomer (E,) for elastomer (E) to avoid this undesirable result and then blend the resulting composition with elastomer (E).

    A vinyl chloride resin composition comprising (A) 100 parts by weight of a vinyl chloride resin, (B) 30 to 200 parts by weight of an ethylene/vinyl acetate/carbon monoxide copolymer, and (C) 2 to 80 parts by weight of chlorinated polyethylene. The said vinyl chloride resin composition can be prepared by simultaneously melt-mixing 100 parts by weight of the vinyl chloride resin, 30 to 200 parts by weight of the ethylene/vinyl acetate/carbon monoxide copolymer and 2 to 80 parts by weight of chlorinated polyethylene.

    A poly(vinyl chloride) product is provided containing as a permanent plasticizer, a copolymer of vinyl acetate and ethylene which is copolymerized in the presence of porous particles of the PVC. The copolymerization is carried out in either suspension or emulsion and under conditions which provide a copolymer containing 60 to 85 wt% vinyl acetate in amounts from about 20 to 60 wt% of the vinyl acetate/ethylene copolymer in the final composition. A free flowing powder is formed which can be used for PVC compounding operations. If over 60 up to 80 wt% of the composition contains the copolymer, the product is a reinforced VAE dispersion.

    [PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED] To provide a piping material for fire-resistant which has an excellent fire protection performance, and good physical properties, coloring availability and is also excellent in recycling ability. [MEANS FOR SOLVING] The fire-resistant piping material is formed by using a fire-retardant resin composition which contains a polyvinyl chloride-based resin, at least one selected from the group consisting of a Ca-Zn-based thermal stabilizer, a Mg-Zn-based thermal stabilizer and a Ca-Mg-Zn-based thermal stabilizer, and a synthetic hydrotalcite compound. Here, it is preferable that, relative to 100 parts by mass of the polyvinyl chloride-based resin, the synthetic hydrotalcite compound is contained in an amount within a range of 2 parts by mass to 12 parts by mass, and the at least one selected from the group consisting of the Ca-Zn-based thermal stabilizer, the Mg-Zn-based thermal stabilizer and the Ca-Mg-Zn-based thermal stabilizer is contained in an amount within a range of 0.4 parts by mass to 2.5 parts by mass.
