  A series of thiazolyl-oxazoles, most of them having the structural feature NCCN of 2,2′-bipyridyl known to form metal chelates, has been synthesized by condensation of α-halogen carbonyl compounds with thioamides of oxazole-carboxylic acids. The latter were obtained by the method of CORNFORTH and by preparing successively their esters, amides, and nitriles.
