    The present invention relates in a first consideration to aldimines of formula (I). Said aldimines are particularly suitable as latent hardeners in curable compositions, particularly compositions comprising one or two-component isocyanate groups. Due to the presence of the reactive group, they can be converted to compounds of the formulas (X) and (XII) comprising aldimine groups, implementing a further consideration of the present invention. The aldimines, or the compounds comprising aldimine groups, can be used primarily in adhesive and sealant materials, but also in coatings, and can be produced easily from readily available source materials, and have good thermal stability. The tertiary amino group thereof has a surprisingly low alkalinity and can in some cases have a catalytic effect in chemical reaction systems.

    Approaches are described for coating various flexible media, such as sheets of paper, synthetic polymer (polyolefin, polyester, etc.) sheets or fabric sheets, with a silicone on high-speed rolls. For example, an efficient method is described for minimizing and/or reducing mist formation when coating flexible supports with a liquid silicone composition precursor of crosslinked coatings. The coating process can be performed using a coating device that includes a roll operating at a high speed.

    The invention concerns the use of cross-linkable silicone compositions for fast, economical and simple impregnation and/or varnishing of flat joints (e.g. cylinder head gaskets). More precisely it concerns the use of silicone compositions cross-linkable under UV radiation, by cationic process and in the presence of specific phoinitiators selected among onium borates or organometallic complexes, of which the borate counter-anions contain at least a boron bound to at least a substituted phenyl (Me, F). The silicone liquid precursor is a polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) substituted by cross-linking functional groups, by cationic process (G f p ) under UV of the epoxy or vinyloxy type. These G f p are present at the rate of 0.15 to 2.0 pr kg of PDMS. The invention also relates to the method for impregnating/varnishing flat joints (e.g. cylinder head gaskets) using the specific PDMS composition+photoinitiator of borate type as well as the treated joints and the composition themselves.

    The invention relates to silicone compositions that are used in the production of varnishes that can be applied to supports in order to reduce the friction coefficient. The inventive composition comprises at least one polyorganosiloxane A (POS) which can be cationically and radically cross-linked by functional cross-linking groups (GFR) and a primer C chosen from onium borates, charcterised in that the inventive composition also comprises molecules (POS D) which are substituted by secondary functional groups (GFS) carried by silicon atoms and selected from those that include at least one alkoxy and/or epoxy and/or carboxy motif and optionally a charge (e.g. silica). The invention can be used with anti-friction varnishes for RTV silicone coatings for material used in air bags, thermal transfer ribbons or packing films.
