Chiral rhodium[bis(oxazolinyl)phenyl] complexes exhibited high catalytic activity for the beta-boration of alpha,beta-unsaturated esters, ketones, and amides with bis(pinacolato)diboron in the presence of sodium tertbutoxide to attain high enantioselectivity of up to 97%.
