These .omega.-amino(alkylthio, alkyloxy or alkanoylamino)-1-deoxy-glycopyranosides, and in particular 1-[(6'-aminohexyl)thio or oxy]-1-deoxy-D-mannopyranosides, possess insulin-like activity.
