  The reactions of (E)-chlorovinyl sulfones with 1,2-ethanedithiol or 1,3-propanedithiol in the presence of triethylamine in toluene at 80 degrees C lead to the selective formation of 1,3-dithiolane and 1,3-dithiane derivatives with yields of up to 49%.
