    A series of new terphenyl benzimidazoles (3a-z and 3aa-ad) were synthesized and evaluated for their anticancer activity. All the 30 compounds have shown moderate to good anticancer potency, however some of the compounds (3j, 3m-t and 3aa-ad) exhibited prominent anticancer potency with GI(50) values ranging from <0.1 to 9.72 mu M. These compounds exhibit G2/M phase arrest and the analysis of tubulin by Western blot experiments in case of 3t and 3ad shows the disturbances that are caused in the ratio of soluble versus polymerized tubulin in cells. Compounds 3t and 3ad are the most promising candidates amongst the series and has the potential to be taken up for further detailed studies either alone or in combination with the existing therapies.     A ligand‐free heterogeneous palladium on charcoal (Pd/C)‐catalyzed Suzuki‐Miyaura cross‐coupling has been performed. The series of substituted p‐terphenyls were prepared in very good yields without exclusion of air and with low catalyst loadings. Moreover, the developed environmentally benign and scalable protocol enables to use electron poor and sterically hindered boronic acids.

    A surface-modified inorganic substance is obtained by performing surface modification on a inorganic nitride by using an aldehyde compound such as a compound represented by General Formula I. A resin composition contains the surface-modified inorganic substance and a monomer having a group selected from the group consisting of an oxetanyl group, an oxiranyl group, and a (meth)acrylate group. ZZ—XX—CHO  General Formula I In the formula, ZZ represents a group selected from the group consisting of an amino group, a thiol group, a hydroxyl group, an isocyanate group, a carboxyl group, a carboxylic acid anhydride group, an oxetanyl group, an oxiranyl group, and a (meth)acrylate group, and XX represents a divalent linking group.

    The present invention provides a thermally conductive material containing a disk-like compound as a thermally conductive material having high thermal conductivity and high heat resistance. For example, the present invention provides a thermally conductive material containing a cured substance of a resin composition containing a disk-like compound having two or more functional groups, in which the functional groups are selected from the group consisting of a (meth)acryl group, a (meth)acrylamide group, an oxiranyl group, an oxetanyl group, a hydroxyl group, an amino group, a thiol group, an isocyanate group, a carboxyl group, and a carboxylic acid anhydride group. The present invention also provides a device, which includes the aforementioned thermally conductive material, and the aforementioned resin composition.
