Cyclic p-amino acids, homoproline, homopipecolic acid and 3-carboxy-methylmorpholine were obtained in high enantiomeric excesses by transition metal-catalyzed asymmetrichydrogenation of cyclic β-acylamino-alkenoates. These compounds were synthesized by a thio-Wittig reaction on N-protected thiolactames.
