    A magnetic recording medium is disclosed, comprising a support having thereon a lower layer containing a nonmagnetic powder or a ferromagnetic powder dispersed in a binder, and at least a magnetic layer containing a ferromagnetic powder dispersed in a binder provided on the lower layer, wherein the binder contains a polyurethane resin obtained from a polyester polyol comprising a specific diol, a chain extending agent and an organic diisocyanate, and the magnetic layer surface has a C/Fe peak ratio of from 7 to 11.

There is also provided a magnetic recording medium that includes a non-magnetic support, above the support at least one non-magnetic layer including a non-magnetic powder dispersed in a binder ( 1 ), and, above the non-magnetic layer, at least one magnetic layer having a ferromagnetic powder dispersed in a binder ( 2 ), in which binder ( 1 ) and/or binder ( 2 ) is the polyurethane resin.

    An outdoor urethane adhesive including a urethane resin obtained by reaction of an isocyanate compound with a polyol having an ester bond. The isocyanate compound contains at least one of an aliphatic isocyanate or an alicyclic isocyanate. The polyol contains both a polyester polyol and an acrylic polyol. The urethane adhesive is excellent in initial adhesion, cured adhesion and flexibility of the cured adhesive film. When the urethane adhesive further includes a hydroxyphenyltriazine-based compound the adhesive has little change in color difference and has improved weatherability. The outdoor adhesive can be used to form a solar battery backsheet. The solar battery backsheet can be used as part of a solar battery module.
