  1H NMR spectrum of 8,13-dichloro-1,2,3,4-tetrafluoro-9-methyltriptycene at low temperature, where internal rotation of the methyl group is frozen, shows that 1-F couples to the ap proton of the methyl group with a coupling constant of 8.7 Hz and to the sc protons with 6.1 Hz.
