The solution obtained by reduction of [(triphos)CO(μ-Cl)2Co(triphos)]+2 (triphos = CH3C(CH2PPh2)3) with Na/Hg reacts with CO2, CS2 and SO2 to give (triphos)Co(O2CO), (triphos)Co(S2CO), and (triphos)Co(O2SO), respectively. The molecular structure of the last has been established by X-ray difraction.
