A novel pyrrolidinylamide ester derivative that exhibits inhibitory activity against prolyl endopeptidase, methods for synthesis thereof and its use in a pharmaceutical composition as an inhibitor against said enzyme are disclosed. The pyrrolidinylamide ester of the invention has the following general formula:
