    The invention concerns crosslinkable liquid silicone compositions whereof the inorganic filler can be increased while observing limits of viscosity compatible with coating of woven or nonwoven supports on an industrial scale, and which impart to the supports thermal properties (reducing calorific power and fire-proofing), impermeability and good mechanical characteristics. To achieve this, a mineral compound is used based on zirconium (zirconia or zirconium silicate) as filler slightly thickening ChZr in a crosslinkable liquid silicone composition. The ChZr has a D50 ranging between 3 and 15 &mgr;m and is used in a proportion of 100 to 350 parts by weight for 100 parts by weight of the silicone composition without fillers. Said silicone compositions may be of the type crosslinkable by polyaddition or polycondensation. The invention is useful for silicone coating textile tarpaulins for indoor or outdoor structures.

    The invention concerns the use for increasing the life span of moulds made of silicone elastomer crosslinking by polyaddition or polycondensation reaction, of an additive capable of stabilising the silicone elastomer whereof the mould is constituted with respect to materials to be moulded, said additive corresponding the following formula (1) wherein R 1 and R 2 are linear or branched alkyl radicals or cycloaliphatic radicals having 1 to 40 carbon atoms. Preferably, said additive is methyl laurylthiopropionate. C 12 H 25 —S—CH 3 —CH 2 —CO—O—CH 3 . The invention also concerns the corresponding silicone compositions and the resulting moulds.

    The invention concerns a method for preparing a precipitated silica suspension in a silicone oil, said suspension being useable for producing silicones crosslinkable by polyaddition, polycondensation or condensation by dehydrogenation (elastomers). The invention aims at solving the problem of finding a compromise between cost, rheology and mechanical properties of the final elastomers. Therefore, the invention provides a method for preparing a precipitated silica suspension treated with trimethylchlorosilane, in the presence of hexamethyldisiloxane, in a crosslinkable silicone oil. HCl can be used. Grafting of the hydrophobic units on the silica and incorporation of the polyorganosiloxane silicone material are carried out during one single processing sequence, without passing through the powder form for the silica. Sodium silicate promoting MQ resin can be incorporated in the reaction medium. The invention also concerns the preparation of a crosslinkable silicone elastomer composition from said suspension, and the resulting composition.

    The invention concerns the use, for increasing the durability of moulds made of silicone elastomer crosslinkable by a poly addition or polycondensation reaction, of additive capable of stabilizing the silicone elastomer constituting the mold with respect to materials to be molded, of an additive selected among: (a) antioxidant additives comprising, in their structure additives containing at least one R—Sq—R′ group in which R and R′ are monovalent hydrocarbon groups with at least 3 carbon atoms or a monovalent hydrocarbon group with an ester bond or R and R′ together form a cycle, q being a whole number between 1 and 3 inclusively, (b) additives inhibitors of free radicals capable, in moulding conditions of generating radicals ═N—O; the invention concerns the synergistic combination of (a)+(b), the synergistic combination of (a) and/or (b) with phosphites (c), except for the use of bis(1-octyloxy-2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-4-piperidyl) sebacate as only additive in a silicone elastomer mould cross-linked by polycondensation.
