Oxidation of styrene derivatives by peroxydisulfate(2-) ion-copper(II) in acetic acid and acetonitrile. Reaction paths in oxidations via radical cations
A palladium(II)/monothiadiazole ligand catalytic system and its application in catalyzing the acetoxylation of 1,1-disubstituted alkenes have been developed. With this newly designed monothiadiazole thioether ligand, the reaction showed a broad scope with respect to 1,1-disubstituted olefins, giving the corresponding products in yields of 30–86%.

The dynamic kinetic resolution of certain allyl acatates has been achieved by enzymatic hydrolysis to the corresponding allyl alcohols. In the presence of a palladium catalyst, the allyl acetate is racemised, allowing a dynamic resolution to take place.

A mild acid-catalyzed formal allylic C-H oxidation of aryl cycloalkenes with N-propylthlosuccinimide in the presence of various nucleophiles to generate allylic ethers, esters, and sulfonamides is described. A possible reaction mechanism has been proposed.
