Introduction of the methoxy group at the allylic C-4 position of trinem 1 has mainly resulted in a remarkable enhancement of antimicrobial activity. A successful attempt in terms of antibacterial activity was made by introduction of an oxygen atom alternatively at the allylic position 5 and 7 of 1 In particular compounds 3 and 4 resulted of relevant interest.
