A piece of the π! In the presence of PtCl2, NiII tetraalkynylporphyrin complex undergoes a six‐endo‐dig‐type cyclization to form two unusual structural isomers of NiII bisphenanthroporphyrins. Under the same conditions, NiII dialkynylpicenoporphyrin forms the extended NiII picenophenanthroporphyrin (see scheme).
