Complexes [Cp*Ti(NR(2))(3)] (Cp* = eta(5)-C(5)Me(5); R = Me or Et) react with CO2 to give the corresponding insertion products [Cp*Ti(eta(2)-O(2)CNR(2))(3)] (R = Me (1), Et (2)). When solutions of 1-2 are exposed to wet air a hydrolytic process takes place and leads to the formation of the [{Cp*Ti(eta(2)-O(2)CNR(2))}(2)(mu-O)(2)] (R = Me (3), Et (4)). The molecular structure of 4 has been established by single crystal X-ray analysis.
