A color diffusion transfer photographic material comprises a base having thereon at least one silver halide emulsion layer and a dye image-receiving layer, at least one layer thereof containing a dye-releasing redox compound and at least one layer thereof containing a development inhibitor-releasing compound represented by the following general formula (I): A--Time).sub.t DIG (I) wherein A represents ##STR1## linked to --Time).sub.t DIG through at least one of R.sup.1, R.sup.2 and EAG; R.sup.1 and R.sup.2, which may be the same or different, each represents a single bond or a substituent other than a hydrogen atom, provided that R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 may be linked to form a ring; EAG represents an electron-accepting group; Time represents a group capable of releasing DIG after EAG accepts an electron; DIG represents a development inhibitor precursor; and t is an integer of 0 or 1.
