Abstract Anodic oxidation of cadmium metal in an acetonitrile solution containing the preformed Schiff base H2L2 derived from bis-(2-aminophenyl)disulphide and the appropriate salicylaldehyde yields CdL compounds. When 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) or 2,2′-bipyridine (bipy) is added to the electrolytic phase, mixed complexes CdLL′ (L′ = phen or bipy) are obtained. The crystal structure of (1,10-phenanthroline)
