3-O-Aminoacyl-D-glucoses (amino acids; Gly, L-Ala, L-Lys, L-Asp (α and β) and L-Glu (α and γ)) have been prepared by the condensation of 1,2; 5,6-di-O-isopropylidene-D-glucose with suitably protected amino acidderivatives in the presence of N,N′-dicyclohexylcarbodiimide, followed by the removal of the protected groups. The effect of free amino and carboxyl groups on the stability of these compounds
