The synthesis of the novelopticallyactive macrocyclic host (+)-1 incorporating an unnatural isoquinoline alkaloid as chiral building block is described. The formation of diastereomericcomplexes between host (+)-1 and (R) and (S)-naproxen in aqueoussolution is observed by 1H NMR spectroscopy.
