This paper describes a method for nickel catalyzed intramolecular C-H arylation using aryl pivalates as electrophiles. The transformation is efficient for the synthesis of diverse electronically and sterically differentiated dibenzofurans. Additionally, the method could be expanded toward the synthesis of carbazoles.
