The present invention provides a spiropyran compound represented by the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 is alkyl having 1 to 20 carbon atoms or aralkyl, R.sup.2, R.sup.3, R.sup.4 and R.sup.5 are the same or different and are each a hydrogen atom, alkyl having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, aryl or aralkyl, alkoxyl having 1 to 5 carbon atoms, halogen atom, cyano, trichloromethyl, trifluoromethyl or nitro, R.sup.6 and R.sup.7 are the same or different and are each a hydrogen atom, alkyl having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, aryl or aralkyl, halogen atom, cyano or nitro, X is an oxygen atom or sulfur atom, Y is Se or (CH.sub.3).sub.2 C<, Z is ##STR2## and X is a sulfur atom when Y is (CH.sub.3).sub.2 C<. The spiropyran compound of the present invention itself is usable as a material such as recording material, photosensitive material, optical filter or decorative material. The present compound can further be homopolymerized or copolymerized with other polymerizable compound into a high polymer spiropyran compound for application to optical devices or dynamic devices.
本发明提供了一种由下式表示的螺环氧化物化合物:##STR1##其中,R.sup.1是具有1至20个碳原子的烷基或芳基烷基,R.sup.2、R.sup.3、R.sup.4和R.sup.5相同或不同,分别是氢原子、具有1至6个碳原子的烷基、芳基或芳基烷基、具有1至5个碳原子的烷氧基、卤素原子、氰基、三氯甲基、三氟甲基或硝基,R.sup.6和R.sup.7相同或不同,分别是氢原子、具有1至6个碳原子的烷基、芳基或芳基烷基、卤素原子、氰基或硝基,X是氧原子或硫原子,Y是Se或(CH.sub.3).sub.2C<,Z是##STR2##当Y是(CH.sub.3).sub.2C<时,X是硫原子。本发明的螺环氧化物化合物本身可用作记录材料、光敏材料、光学滤光片或装饰材料等材料。本化合物还可以与其他可聚合化合物共聚合形成高分子螺环氧化物化合物,应用于光学器件或动态器件中。
