Two mononuclear complexes, [Co(HL)2(C8H7O3)]·(CH3OH)2 (1) and [Cu(HL)2] (2) where H2L = N-[2-(2-hydroxy-3-methoxybenzylidene-amino)cyclohexyl]-2-hydroxybenzamide have been synthesized and characterized by IR, elemental analysis and crystal structure analysis. In complexes (1) and (2) the core ion has the six-coordinated N2O4 environment with a distorted octahedral geometry and four-coordinated N2O2 environment with a distorted square-planar geometry, respectively.
