  p-Toluenesulphonic acid catalytic isomerization of 1,3,5(10),8-tetraene steroids in benzene or toluene with the presence of acetic acid is established as a simple high-yield (85 similar to 89%) procedure to the synthesis of the corresponding 9(11)-isomers.
