  This invention is directed to novel quaternary ammonium tropane compounds and 3-substituted derivatives thereof and their synthesis. The compounds are novel compounds having valuable utility as organic directing agents in the crystallization of various silicates, which, in turn, are useful, as catalyst components, sorbents, and/or ion-exchangers.
