A metal- and oxidant-free electrochemical synthesis of aryl sulfides was developed through a C–H sulfidation reaction of arenes and disulfides. Compared with traditional organic synthesis methods, this direct electrochemical approach efficiently generates aryl sulfides under catalyst- and oxidant-free conditions with the superiorities of wide substrate compatibility, mild reaction condition and waster
A novel and efficient synthesis of sulfur-containing heterocycles from phenol ethers bearing an alkyl sulfide sidechain using a combined reagent of a hypervalent iodine(III) species and BF3·Et2O is described.
A method for Ni-catalyzed controlled decarbonylation of α-ketothioesters is described. Mono- and double-decarbonylations, which gave thioesters and thioethers, respectively, were selectively achieved by changing the ligand. A fundamental study of Ni-catalyzed decarbonylation of α-ketothioesters is presented.
