One-pot procedures were developed for the synthesis of lipophilic N-(dialkylphosphorylmethyl) derivatives of natural amino acids with high yields from dioctyl- or didecylphosphine oxide, formaldehyde, and amino acid in the presence of amino acid hydrochloride.
