New complexes of copper(II) acetate with acetone hydrazones derived from cyclopropylcarboxylic, cyclobutylcarboxylic, cyclohexylcarboxylic, cyclopentylacetic, cyclohexylacetic and cyclohexylbutyric acids have been synthesized. The complexes were characterized by elemental analyses, thermogravimetric, conductance, magnetic and spectral (IR and electronic and H-1 NMR) studies. The complexes are magnetically dilute and nonelectrolytes in chloroform. The hydrazones act as neutral bidentate donors coordinating via the carbonyl oxygen and the azomethine nitrogen while the acetate ions are in the outer coordination sphere.
