Conjugates of tacrine and salicylamide were synthesized as potential multifunctional anti-AD agents. The compounds have high anticholinesterase (IC50 AChE to 0.22 μM, IC50 BChE to 0.01 μM) and low anti-CES activity, displaced propidium iodide from the AChE PAS, being in agreement with the results of molecular docking. The conjugates exhibited ABTS+-scavenging (TEAC to 0.9) and metal-chelating activity

Die Erfindung betrifft als neue Substanzen N-Octylsalicylsäureamid und N-Decyl-salicylsäureamid, ein Verfahren zur Herstellung der genannten Verbindungen aus Salicylsäuremethylester und einem primären Amin sowie die Verwendung der Amide in antimikrobiell wirkenden Zusammensetzungen.
Stilbene, a kind of phytoalexin, plays an important role in resistance to fungal and bacterial infection in plants. It strongly inhibits the growth of fungi and sprout of spore. Stilbene synthase gene (Vst1) obtained from grapevine has been transferred into common spring wheat Jinghong 5 by using the biolistic transformation method. Five transgenic plants (T-0) were obtained from the bombarded 2014 immature embryos. One immune plantlet and 3 plantlets with mid-resistance to powdery mildew were identified from the transgenic plants of T-3 generation which came from 2 T-0 transgenic plants.
Lipase-Catalyzed Solvent-Free Amidation of Phenolic Acids
A series of N-alkyl-substituted amides, based on various phenolic acids, have been synthesized by the condensation of equimolar amounts of phenolic acids with different alkyl amines in the presence of Candida antarctica lipase at 60-90 degrees C in 16-20 h. The reactions were carried out in a solvent-free system without the use of any activating agents. All the products were obtained in appreciable amounts and the yields for different compounds varied between 75.6% and 83.5%. The synthesized compounds were characterized using spectroscopy techniques, namely infrared and NMR (H-1 and C-13).
