A polyvalent glycidyl compound is produced from a compound having one or more 2-alkenyl ether groups and two or more 2-alkenyl groups using a hydrogen peroxide aqueous solution as an oxidizing agent to oxidize the 2-alkenyl ether groups and the 2-alkenyl groups. A 2-alkenyl ether compound having two or more (un)substituted 2-alkenyl groups and one or more (un)substituted 2-alkenyl ether groups is oxidized using a hydrogen peroxide aqueous solution as an oxidizing agent in the presence of a tungsten compound and a quaternary ammonium salt as catalysts and of phosphoric acid as a co-catalyst, while controlling the pH of the reaction solution to 1.0-4.0 using an acid other than phosphoric acid. During the oxidation, the step of adding the hydrogen peroxide aqueous solution to the reaction solution and the step of adding the acid other than phosphoric acid thereto are alternately repeated at intervals two or more times.

We propose a thermosetting solvent-free single-component composition having a storage stability at room temperature of at least 2 weeks, consisting of
(A) 5-90 parts by weight of one at least difunctional (iso)cyanate component,
(B) 5-50 parts by weight of a latent curing agent solid up to a temperature of at least 40° C. based on nitrogen compounds suitable for addition crosslinking,
(C) 0-50 parts by weight of an epoxy-containing compound and
(D) 0-50 parts by weight of modifiers,
with the sum of all parts by weight being 100, and its use for bonding, casting, sealing and coating of substrates, in particular electronic parts. The composition is cured at 120° C. to 150° C. within seconds.
Disclosed is an automotive coating composition comprising (i) a basal resin which is either (a) a copolymer containing a specific polysiloxane macromonomer having two or more functional groups selected from the class consisting of hydroxyl and alkoxy groups per molecule and a number average molecular weight of 400 to 100,000 and an oxirane group-containing vinyl monomer as comonomer units or (b) a mixture of a polymer (I) containing said polysiloxane macromonomer as an essential monomer unit and a polymer (II) containing an oxirane group-containing vinyl monomer as an essential monomer unit and (ii) a chelate compound selected from the class consisting of aluminium chelate compounds, titanium chelate compounds and zirconium chelate compounds.

The present invention provides an aqueous curable resin composition which comprises:
[A] a resin component containing, as functional groups, a specific aprotic onium salt-containing group, a hydroxyl group, an epoxy group, and a hydrolyzable group directly bound to a silicon atom or a hydroxysilyl group, and
[B] a metal chelate compound selected from aluminum chelate compound, zirconium chelate compound and titanium chelate compound.
The composition of the present invention is an aqueous composition which has an excellent storage stability and good curability and is capable of giving a cured product having a high water resistance.
