The allene carbopalladation process can be realized with various vinylic or aromatic derivatives, in the presence of sodium benzenesulphinate, and allows the preparation of the entitled sulphones.
A nickel‐catalyzed cross‐coupling of sodium sulfinates with aryl halides is reported. The reaction provides diaryl sulfones in good yields and displays a broad tolerance towards functional groups.

In the presence of a substoichiometric amount of a tert-butoxy radical precursor, the reaction of alkylamines with sulfonylarenes was found to give α-arylated alkylamines through homolyticaromaticsubstitution, where a radical chain is operative.
