Formyl- (1), acetyl- (2), carbomethoxy- (3) and carboethoxycyclopentadienylthallium (4) have been prepared in high yields from reactions of the corresponding functionally substituted cyclopentadienylsodium salts with thallium ethoxide in ethanol solution.
