  与α-氯酰胺1a-c（与N-氰基苯胺钾反应）提供异常的取代产物（2a-c）不同，相关的腈和酯在相同条件下产生正常的取代产物（3a和b）。1,5,5-Triphenylhydantoin（4a）及其系列（5a-8a，13和14）的衍生物已从3a和b开始制备。除正常产物（4a和5a）外，酸水解3a还会产生大量的重排产物4b。已从α，α-二苯基甘氨腈和2-甲硫基1,4,4-三苯基-2-咪唑啉-5开始制备了后者的可靠样品及其一系列衍生物（5b-8b和11） -一（9）。当与氨和碘化铵反应时，除正常的氨解产物7b之外，9还会通过16的明显脱苯作用而生成Dimroth重排产物16以及5,5-二苯基糖基oc啶。讨论了咪唑衍生物4-8，a和b，9、11、13和14的质谱。
