    One-Stage Synthesis of Cagelike Porous Polymeric Microspheres and Application as Catalyst Scaffold of Pd Nanoparticles
    摘要:
    One-stage synthesis of cagelike porous polymeric microspheres and their application as catalyst scaffold of Pd nanoparticles are discussed. The synthesis of cagelike porous polymeric microspheres is achieved by W/O/W emulsion polymerization of a surfactant monomer of N-(4-vinylbenzyl)-N, Pd N-dibutylamine hydrochloride and a hydrophobic monomer of styrene in water. Ascribed to the surfactant monomer, convenient one-stage synthesis of cagelike porous polymeric microspheres is afforded, and cagelike porous polymeric microspheres with size ranging from 300 to 600 nm and pore volume as large as 0.31 cm(3)/g are fabricated. The porous character and the inherent quaternary ammonium moieties make the cagelike porous polymeric microspheres to be the promising catalyst scaffold of Pd nanoparticles, and up to 10 wt % Pd catalyst with the metal particle size ranging from 2.1 to 5.7 nm is loaded. The catalytic hydrogenation of nitrobenzene by H-2 demonstrates that the heterogeneous Pd catalyst is efficient and reusable.

    An objective of the present invention is to provide a hydrogenated modified polymer which can afford a molded body excellent in improvement in the balance among the impact resistance, the strength, the adherability and as the appearance, and a process for producing the same as well as a composition containing the same. Another objective is to provide a composition which can afford a molded body excellent in the balance among the flame retardancy, the tensile strength, the tensile extension, the heat resistance, the characteristic at low temperature, the insulation property, the pliability and the like. The hydrogenated modified polymer of the invention is a hydrogenated polymer of a modified conjugated diene-based polymer obtained by reacting an alkoxysilane compound to a polymer which is polymerized a conjugated diene or a conjugated diene and another monomer using an organic alkali metal compound as a polymerization initiator in an inert organic solvent such as cyclohexane and the like. The hydrogenated modified polymer composition of the invention contains the above-mentioned hydrogenated modified polymer and at least one selected from the group consisting of nonpolar polymer, polar polymer and filler.

    There are disclosed a styrenic block copolymer having a reduced viscosity of 0.01 to 20 dl/g (0.05 g/l in 1,2,4-trichlorobenzene at 135°C) which comprises highly syndiotactic styrenic-polymer segments and 10⁻⁴ to 10 mol% of heteroatom-containing styrenic polymer segments; a resin composition comprising the above styrenic block copolymer and a thermoplastic resin, an inorganic filler or an organic filler; a multi-layer material comprising at least one layer composed of the above styrenic block copolymer or the above resin composition; and a process for producing the above styrenic block copolymer which comprises polymerizing a styrenic monomer in the presence of a specific catalyst and adding a heteroatom-containing styrenic monomer to successively proceed with copolymerizaiton reaction. The above-disclosed styrenic block copolymer and the resin composition exhibit excellent compatibiity and adhesivenesss, and the multi-layer material is expected to find a wide range of applications in automobile parts, electrical and electronic parts as well as film, sheet, etc.

    A process for producing a styrenic copolymer having a functional group and the syndiotactic configuration is provided. The process comprises bringing a metal compound into interaction with a vinyl compound having a functional group to mask the functional group and copolymerizing the vinyl compound having the masked functional group with a styrenic compound in the presence of a polymerization catalyst comprising (A) a transition metal compound, (B) at least one compound selected from compounds having oxygen and compounds which can form ionic complex compounds by reaction with the transition metal compound and (C) an organometallic compound. A styrenic copolymer which is a random, block or graft copolymer, preferably a random copolymer, of a vinyl compound having a functional group and a styrenic compound and has the repeating units derived from the styrenic compound having the syndiotactic configuration can be produced efficiently. The above styrenic random copolymer exhibits excellent physical properties such as excellent adhesion with various adhesives and excellent compatibility with various rubbers and is advantageously used for various applications as various types of molded articles.

    The present invention provides a novel narrow distribution dendrimer-like star polymer having a controlled molecular structure, and a method capable of easily producing the star polymer. Disclosed is a polymer comprising a core portion and an arm portion, wherein the arm portion includes a first generation composed of a polymer chain and a second generation composed of a polymer chain formed at the outer shell of the first generation, the number of arms of the second generation is larger than the number of arms of the first generation, the first generation composed of the polymer chain is a polymer chain derived from a monomer having a polymerizable double bond, and the ratio of the weight average molecular weight (Mw) to the number average molecular weight (Mn), (Mw/Mn), of the star polymer is within a range from 1.001 to 2.50. A compound containing a functional group capable of reacting with an anion, which serves as a core portion, is reacted with a polymer chain containing two or more functional groups and an anion end which serves as an arm portion.

    It has been discovered by in present invention that, compared with a fluorosurfactant having only one betaine group per molecule, a fluorosurfactant having a plurality of betaine groups per molecule is superior in its ability to undergo electrostatic interaction with other components of a fire fighting composition thereby improving the performance of the fire fighting composition. Previously known fluorosurfactants comprise only one betaine group per molecule. In contrast, the present invention provides for a fluorobetaine copolymer containing a plurality of betaine groups.
