An efficient ligand-free Fe-catalyzed oxidative Ugi-type reaction toward the assembly of α-amino amides and short peptides is described. The reaction proceeds through the α-C(sp3)–H oxidation of N,N-dimethylanilines and further nucleophilic attack of the resulting iminium species by isocyanides. Additive screening showed that judicious choice of the carboxylic acid could lead to the formation of α-amino
Oxidative three-component reactions for the direct synthesis of α-amino amides and imides from tertiary amines have been developed. These reactions involve the functionalization of C(sp3)–H bonds adjacent to nitrogen atoms via mild aerobicoxidationusingvisiblelightphotoredoxcatalysis. The protocols are applicable to a wide range of amines and isocyanides, as well as water and carboxylic acids

Visible-light mediated heterogeneous C–H functionalization of tertiaryamines provides access to a variety of α-amino amides. An oxidative, titanium dioxide catalyzed, Ugi-type, three-component reaction has been developed in which the catalyst can be recycled without loss of activity.

reaction for the synthesis of α-amino amides via C(sp3)–Hbondactivation. The active intermediate generated by the difunctionalization of isocyanide undergoes intermolecular rearrangement rather than the easier intramolecular rearrangement. This may be caused by a six-member ring transition state. In addition, under metal-free and external oxidant-free conditions, large-scale synthesis and good functional
