All the trihalogeno(polyfluoroalkyl)silanes an trihalogeno(2H-hexafluorocyclobutyl)silanes except trichloro(3H-pentafluropropyl)silane decompose thermally by β-elimination processes; the latter silane partly decomposes by an α-elimination
