    The present invention refers to a plasticiser, said plasticiser being an ester formed by reaction of a pentaerythritol and a monocarboxylic acid, having 4-5 carbon atoms. In a further aspect the present invention refers to the use of said plasticiser in blends and in a PVC resin. The plasticiser of the present invention is a non-phthalic plasticiser that has proven to have shorter fusion time and higher plasticising efficiency compared to commercial non-phthalic PVC plasticisers.

    Provided are a thermal stabilizer for polyvinyl chloride, comprising a mixed powder (P) containing a vinyl alcohol-based polymer (A) having an average degree of saponification from 30 to 99.9 mol% and having a viscosity average degree of polymerization of 1000 or less, and a zinc compound (B), wherein a weight ratio A/B of (A) and (B) falls within a range from 1/10 to 10/1, and the mixed powder (P) has 80 weight% or more of particles passing through a screen with 75 µm openings, and a polyvinyl chloride resin composition, comprising: from 0.1 to 10 parts by weight of the thermal stabilizer for polyvinyl chloride based on 100 parts by weight of a polyvinyl chloride resin. Such polyvinyl chloride resin composition is excellent in the thermal stability while being molded and allows obtaining a less colored molded article.

The present invention relates to a resin composition for molding, including a chlorinated vinyl chloride-based resin, a thermal stabilizer, and a polyalcohol and/or a partial ester of a polyalcohol. The chlorinated vinyl chloride-based resin has a chlorine content of 65% by weight or more and less than 72% by weight. The chlorinated vinyl chloride-based resin has, based on the total number of moles of a structural unit (a) -CCl2 a structural unit (b) -CHCl-, and a structural unit (c) -CH2-, a proportion of the structural unit (a) of 17.5 mol% or less, a proportion of the structural unit (b) of 4 6. 0 mol% or more, and a proportion of the structural unit (c) of 37.0 mol% or less. The thermal stabilizer contains at least one of a compound represented by the formula Ca1-xZnx(OH)2 where x satisfies the inequality 0 < x < 1 and a compound represented by the formula Ca1-yZnyO where y satisfies the inequality 0 < y < 1.
