oxidative C-H allylation of N-acetylbenzamides with 1,3-dienes is described. The presence of allylic hydrogens cis to the less substituted alkene of the 1,3-diene is important for the success of these reactions. With the assistance of reactions using deuterated 1,3-dienes, a proposed mechanism is provided. The key step is postulated to be the first reported examples of allyl-to-allyl 1,4-Rh(III) migration

Suzuki–Miyaura-type cross-couplings between alkyl iodides and aryl organoborons. This process requires a copper catalyst but, in contrast with previous approaches based on palladium and nickel systems, does not utilizes the metal for the activation of the alkylelectrophile. Instead, this strategy exploits the halogen-atom-transfer ability of α-aminoalkyl radicals to convert secondary alkyl iodides into the

catalyzed hydrocarbonation, linear selectivity is most often obtained because of the relative stability of the linear Ni-alkyl intermediate over its branched counterpart. Herein, we show that the boronic pinacol ester (Bpin) group directs a Ni-catalyzed hydrocarbonation to occur at its adjacent carbon center, resulting in formal branch selectivity. Both alkyl and aryl halides can be used as electrophiles
An efficient Cu-catalyzed C–H alkenylation with acyclic and cyclic vinyl boronates was realized for the first time under mild conditions. The scope of the vinyl borons and the compatibility with functional groups including heterocycles are superior than Pd-catalyzed C–H coupling with vinyl borons, providing a reliable access to multisubstituted alkenes and dienes. Subsequent hydrogenation of the product

been evaluated as new sustainable solvents for a large variety of CO2 -based carboxylation reactions. Known biomass-derived solvents (biosolvents) are also included in the study and the results are compared with commonly used solvents for the reactions. Biosolvents can be efficiently applied in a variety of carboxylation reactions, such as Cu-catalyzed carboxylation of organoboranes and organoboronates
