    The invention relates to an improved method for synthesizing bis[3-(N,N-dialkylamino)propyl]ethers from acrylonitrile, comprising the following reactions: first addition reaction of a water molecule and an acrylonitrile molecule to produce 3-hydroxypropionitrile (reaction 1), second addition reaction of a 3-hydroxypropionitrile molecule obtained by reaction 1 and an acrylonitrile molecule to produce bis(2-cyanoethyl)ether (reaction 2), hydrogenation reaction of the bis(2-cyanoethyl)ether to conduct a reduction of the nitrile functions to primary amine functions in order to produce bis(3-aminopropyl)ether (reaction 3), aminoalkylation reaction of the bis(3-aminopropyl)ether to produce bis[3-(N,N-dialkylamino)propyl]ether (reaction 4).

    A highly homogeneous starch-based glue composition is obtained by enzymatic modification of the starch with a branching enzyme which is supplied in an enzymatically modified starch with high long-term stability. The starch has a viscosity stability index SI of less than or equal to 1.3, calculated by the quotient of viscosity after 14 days and by viscosity after 2 hours after preparation of the starch. The starch is suitable for liquid storage, which is stable in the long-term, of a ready-to-use paste with a high bonding strength.

    A well treatment fluid containing borated galactomannan may be used to isolate a pre-determined productive zone in an oil or gas well. The fluid is pumped into the well in a substantially non-hydrated form and forms a temporary seal. The fluid may be used as a chemical packer in place of a mechanical packer. After the pre-determined productive zone is isolated, a well intervention operation may be performed within the isolated pre-determined zone.
