N-alkylations of secondaryamines have been developed. By using DIAD and TPP (or PS-TPP) a variety of secondaryamines can be converted to the corresponding tertiaryamines in good to excellent yields with diverse alkylhalides; no formation of quaternary amine salts are observed.
