  Abstract Representatives of previously unknown benzimidazole-2-carbothioamides containing N-β-(hetero)arylethyl groups in the thioamide fragment were synthesized. Such structures are interesting as agents with anti-infective, neuro(psycho)tropic and anticancer activity. It was shown that some representatives with an additional highly basic site in the N-substituent can show high protistocidal activity
