An efficient access for the synthesis of substituted pyrazino[2′,3′:4,5]thieno[3,2-d]pyrimidines and pyrazino[2′,3′:4,5]thieno[3,2-d]-1,2,3-triazines, heteroaromatic nitrogen ligands, is reported.
