  硫代二苯甲酮在乙醇中与丁基锂、苯基锂和乙醇钠反应，分别生成二苯甲基丁基硫化物、二苯甲基苯基硫化物和二二苯甲基二硫化物。另一方面，二叔丁基硫酮提供 2,2,4,4-四甲基戊烷-3-硫醇、2,2,4,4-四甲基-3-苯基戊烷-3-硫醇和 2,2,4， 4-四甲基戊烷-3-硫醇分别与丁基锂、苯基锂和乙醇钠在乙醇中反应。氘的产物分析和示踪实验表明，这些反应通过电荷转移机制进行。
