  The direct C-3 arylation of N-acetylindoles with anisoles was described in this Letter. In the presence of phenyliodine bis(trifluoroacetate) (FIFA) and BF(3)-Et(2)O, the reaction of N-acetylindoles with anisoles provided C-3 arylindoles with high regioselectivity under mild conditions.
