  N-substituted .omega.-aminoalkanoyl-.omega.-aminoalkanoic acids and their pharmacologically-acceptable salts (with a base) are useful, e.g., in pharmaceutical-composition form for the treatment or prophylaxis of diseases which are based on inadequate performance of the pancreas, the bile and/or the liver.
