Abstract An improved Williamson synthesis of C 2‐symmetric 4,4′‐(α,ω‐alkylenedioxy)‐bis(3‐methoxybenzaldehydes) from vanillin is described. These dialdehydes are often insoluble in cold acetone, which renders their purification especially facile.
