An efficient synthesis of 7‐aryl‐1,1‐dioxothieno[3,2‐b]pyranderivatives via the reaction of aryl aldehyde, tetrahydrothiophene‐3‐one‐1,1‐dioxide and malononitrile or ethyl 2‐cyanoacetate was performed at room temperature catalyzed by ammoniumacetate under solvent‐free conditions.
